Tura, Aug 4: The FKJGP Chibinang unit in West Garo Hills has condemned the brutal murder of a 12-year-old in the village of Jangrapara under Phulbari police station.
The incident occurred on Tuesday when the minor girl was forcibly taken from her house before her neck was slit by her murderer. While police are currently investigating the case, locals have claimed that there may have been sexual assault perpetrated on the minor prior to the murder. The post-mortem report is still awaited.
“This is absolutely inhuman and we want justice for this young life that was taken away so brutally. Her murderer is still at large and needs to be arrested immediately. There are no words that can truly imagine the pain her family is going through right now and this monstrous act is condemned,” said Binoth Sangma, president of the unit.
Meanwhile the NGO has also expressed unhappiness over the fact that the perpetrator of the act was still at large. “The principal suspect in the murder is still absconding but as per our knowledge is somewhere close to where the act was perpetrated,” added Sangma.
Expressing solidarity with the bereaved family, he said that the FKJGP will pursue the case till the main perpetrator was arrested and punished for the gruesome act.
