Shillong, August 7: A video showcasing a Sikh man and other employees confronting and subduing a robber at a US convenience store recently spread across social media platforms.

The incident occurred a few days ago when the would-be thief was caught shoplifting. As a store worker attempted to intervene, the robber brandished a knife, escalating the situation.

Displaying exceptional courage, one of the store employees seized the thief’s arms, while the Sikh man swiftly armed himself with a stick, delivering blows to subdue the culprit. A witness present at the store captured the entire encounter on video.

As per India Today, Stockton police have now initiated an investigation into the incident involving the assault of a robbery suspect at a 7-Eleven store. The suspected thief is believed to have targeted the same store twice more within a single 24-hour period, as reported by KCRA news.

The viral video circulating on social media dates back to July 29. While the store’s manager has declined to comment, the police have shed light on two additional early morning robbery reports at the same 7-Eleven location, both involving the same suspected thief. These incidents occurred on July 28 and July 29.

The man, now identified by the police as the suspected 7-Eleven robber, expressed uncertainty regarding whether he had been subjected to an assault. The authorities affirmed their awareness of the incident and its ongoing investigation through a statement on Facebook, stating, “We are aware of the incident and the investigation is ongoing.”
