SHILLONG, Aug 9: The central government is yet to take a decision on the fate of the students of the state pursuing their studies in Manipur and affected by the ongoing violence in the state.
Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on Wednesday said a state delegation led by him had met Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar during their recent visit to New Delhi and proposed that students from Meghalaya studying in RIMS and CAU, Imphal can be provided slots in Shillong or anywhere in the Northeast or even the Barapani campus of CAU to allow them to continue their studies for at least one year.
Sangma said the state delegation got a very positive response from the ministers on the matter and a final decision is awaited.
