Class 10 student abducted and murdered in Assam’s Guwahati, accused attested

Shillong, August 10: Guwahati authorities have apprehended Abhishek Baruah, who operates a street-side shop in Hatigaon, on charges of abducting and killing a class 10 student.

The victim, Nitesh Kumar, was familiar with the accused as they lived in the same area. Baruah demanded a ransom of Rs 7 lakh from Nitesh’s family before kidnapping him and taking him to the outskirts of the city in the Bonda area.

As per IANS, the police discovered Nitesh Kumar’s lifeless body in a dense forest on the city’s outskirts. Investigations revealed that the minor had been fatally stabbed, and his body was disposed of in the forested area.

After an extensive search, the police successfully apprehended Abhishek Baruah late on Wednesday night. He is currently under police custody, undergoing interrogation.
