Shillong, August 10: A group of five men hailing from India and Pakistan, who were found guilty of murdering a security guard over 17 years ago at a building site in Jebel Ali, have had their appeal for early release denied by a Dubai court.

As per IANS, following their conviction in 2007, they were sentenced to 25 years of life imprisonment, but having already served 15 years, their bid for release was unsuccessful.

The court revealed that these men were part of a larger gang that broke into the site to steal cables and ended up assaulting and strangling the security guard. Despite attempts to present their case, the judges remained unmoved.
