Dry day
Dry day has been declared in the entire districts of East Khasi Hills and East Jaintia Hills on August 15, a statement from the deputy commissioners (Excise) of the districts informed here on Friday. All bonded warehouses, IMFL retailers, bars, canteens, country shops including outstill will remain closed on the said date.

I-Day programme
Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills has informed that as part of Independence Day celebration, there will be free show at Anjalee Cinema Hall at 10 am and free entry at Ward’s Lake and Phan Nonglait Park (Lady Hydari Park) on August 15.
