Shillong, August 13: In a candid revelation, Nick Jonas shared a poignant memory from his wedding with Priyanka Chopra in 2018. The celebrated musician recounted a particularly challenging yet culturally enlightening moment during the traditional Indian ceremony.

Speaking to People magazine, Nick recounted, “There’s this one moment in Indian weddings where the bride and groom are lifted on the shoulders of their family members and there’s sort of a game that’s played where this garland is put on each other. They try to be the first to put the garland on the other. And it’s surprisingly difficult, especially when you have someone as competitive as me and Pri. But whoever is the one to put it on first, that side of the family is the more dominant.”

While the ceremony’s unfamiliarity was a source of slight unease for Nick, it didn’t deter him from fully embracing the marital union. He expressed genuine affection for the event, acknowledging its uniqueness and intrinsic beauty.

Nick characterized the ceremony as “a great way for the families to all connect. It’s really for the family members to feel pride and that’s just a funny game. But it’s really heartwarming and a great way for the families to all connect.”

Priyanka Chopra, who had previously praised Nick for his wisdom beyond his years, reciprocated the sentiment. She commended him for being a constant source of support, helping her navigate personal insecurities stemming from their age difference and diverse backgrounds.

In an interview with British Vogue magazine, Priyanka stated, “He’s a wise man beyond his years … I get affirmations from him all the time, to remind me of my value when I forget or when I get insecure. He just sees through the fog for me. He sees the best in people.”

Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra’s journey together has been marked by remarkable achievements, solidifying their status as a prominent celebrity couple, resonating strongly within social media circles. Their marriage has not only united them but also served as a shining example of unity amidst diversity.
