Shillong, August 15: A violent clash in Nakashipara, Nadia district, West Bengal, left 15 individuals wounded, including women and children, as reported by officials on Tuesday.

As per IANS, the incident occurred late Monday night and involved two families affiliated with the Congress party. Suspicion has been cast on the Trinamool Congress, although local party leaders vehemently deny any involvement. Sources from the local police indicate that five of the injured are in critical condition.

The clash is believed to stem from recent political rivalry in the region, stemming from elections for the three-tier panchayat system. The local Additional Superintendent of Police, Krishanu Roy, stated that an investigation is underway.

Congress’s Nadia district president, Asim Saha, alleges that the clash resulted from a grudge formed after individuals shifted their political affiliations from Trinamool Congress to Congress. Trinamool Congress’s Nadia district chairman, Nashiruddin Ahmed, denied any involvement from his party.
