Shillong, Aug 18: The National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH) has assessed Supercare Hospital, Shillong and found that it complies with the standards of nursing excellence set by NABH.
The NABH is a quality accreditation board for hospitals in India. It is part of the Quality Council of India (QCI) – a national-level body that promotes and maintains quality across various sectors in the country. The NABH accreditation programme sets standards for healthcare facilities in India, including nursing care services, to ensure that they meet the highest quality and safety standards.
These standards are based on international best practices and are designed to improve patient safety and the quality of care in hospitals. The NABH nursing excellence standards establish comprehensive guidelines for assessing the nursing services offered by healthcare organisations.
The certification, encompassing seven key chapters, establishes comprehensive standards for evaluating nursing services and promoting continuous quality enhancement in safe, competent, and ethical care.
After a rigorous inspection process to validate 48 quality standards involving 216 different objective elements, Supercare Hospital was granted the Nursing Excellence Certification on June 13, 2023 which is valid till June 12, 2025.
Adding to its growing list of accolades, Supercare Hospital is also the only hospital in the northeast with NABH Accreditation for Hospital, NABH Certification for Emergency, and NABH Nursing Excellence alltogether.
Chief Operating Officer Damien Marwein adds, “This certification provides us with a framework that we can utilise to improve our processes, refine our workflows and guide our nurses in better decision- making. This was made possible with the combined effort and growth mindset of our fantastic nursing management team lead under the direction and devotion of our Nursing Superintendent Mrs Mary Lyngdoh. As Supercare Hospital celebrates this milestone, we remain motivated, viewing it as a stepping stone towards greater accomplishments.”
