Shillong, August 20: The Meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp is launching a new feature that allows users to edit captions on both Android and iOS.
This enhancement enables users to rectify mistakes or improve their messages after sending them. Initially, the caption editing feature was only available for text messages, but it has now been extended to media messages like videos, GIFs, and documents.
As per IANS, to determine if the feature is activated for their account, users simply need to press and hold a recent message containing a caption. This addition to WhatsApp empowers users to modify captions on videos, GIFs, and documents within 15 minutes of sending the message.
The inclusion of caption editing enhances communication experiences, enabling users to refine their messages even after they have been sent. This improvement contributes to clearer and more contextually accurate conversations.
However, it’s important to note that the caption edit function can only be applied from the device on which the original message was sent. The feature is currently accessible to some users who have installed the latest updates of WhatsApp for iOS from the App Store and WhatsApp for Android from the Play Store. It will be progressively rolled out to more users in the coming days.
Recently, Meta Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that WhatsApp users can now send photos in HD quality, highlighting the platform’s ongoing efforts to enhance user experience.
