Landslide hits Sonapur area, vehicular traffic comes to halt

Jowai, August 26: Another mudslide hit Sonapyrdi Village Tunnel of East Jaintia Hills District of Meghalaya again this morning.

A few vehicles were washed away while few others were blocked on the way by the sliding mud-rock masses causing disruption of traffic along the highway. The district administration and police are working round the clock to clear the road and restore vehicular traffic.
