SHILLONG, Aug 25: Former MLA and UDP vice president, PT Sawkmie on Friday urged Health Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh to ensure that medical colleges come up in the state at the earliest.
Pointing out that neighbouring state Assam has medical colleges in almost every district; Sawkmie stated that it is time for Meghalaya to step up and have medical colleges of its own.
“Mizoram and Sikkim have medical college. Assam has plenty and even Manipur have few. So it’s high time that we should also have our own medical colleges at the earliest,” Sawkmie said.
