Guwahati, August 28: Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma reviewed the progress of various ongoing and upcoming schemes and assured the district commissioners of co-operation and support from his office.
Chairing a DCs’ conference here on Sunday, the chief minister took stock of the progress of policies and schemes such as the Amrit Brikkha Andolan, Khel Maharan, Assam Sanskritic Mahasangram, Orunodoi 2.0, National Food Security Act, paddy and mustard procurement from farmers, among others.
On Amrit Brikkha Andolan, Sarma asked the concerned officials to ensure the mega-plantation drive witnesses mass participation of members of the general public.
Speaking on the upcoming Khel Maharan and Assam Sanskritic Mahasangram, he exuded confidence that the two schemes would provide a potent platform to the hidden talents of the state.
He asked the district commissioners to personally monitor the preparations for Khel Maharan and Assam Sanskritic Mahasangram and also appoint nodal officers for the same in their respective districts.
The chief minister also took stock of the addition of new beneficiaries across the districts under the National Food Security Act and directed the district commissioners to complete the entire process within a stipulated time-frame of about three to four months.
He further inquired about the progress of the ongoing Mission Basundhara 2.0 and asked the district commissioners to ensure that there was no delay in the administrative procedures for the same.
