Students Committee for Peace formed after KSA-JSM meeting

Jowai, August 31: The leaders and members of Karbi Students Association (KSA) and Jaintia Student Movement (JSM), in a the peace talk held yesterday decided to set up a joint committee called Students’ Committee For Peace Initiative (SCFPI), the main objective of this committee is to bring about harmony and mutual understanding between the Khasi-Pnar community and Karbi along the inter-state border areas where the situation is tricky and tense as faced by both communities.

The meeting was held in Assam at Diphu town, Karbi Anglong District. The meeting was attended by JSM senior President Leningstar Rymbai, Mirjeng Kro President (CEC) KSA, Ribok Biam General Secretary JSM WJHD and other leaders and members of both NGOs.

Further, KSA has promised that they will visit Jaintia (Meghalaya) for the same issues.
