Shillong, September 4: Former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Uma Bharti, has voiced her displeasure at not being invited to the ‘Jan Ashirwad Yatra’ ahead of the state’s Assembly elections, continuing her criticism of the state BJP leadership.

As per IANS, in a series of social media posts, the BJP leader expressed her frustration, stating, “I didn’t receive an invitation at the beginning of the Jan Ashirwad Yatra. It’s true that I have said this, but receiving an invitation doesn’t make me more or less important. Even if I am invited now, I won’t attend. Neither at the start nor at the closing ceremony on September 25.”

However, Bharti emphasized that her bond with Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will remain intact, and she will campaign for the party when asked. She stated, “Whenever and wherever Shivraj ji asks me to campaign, I will obey and respect him. I am one of those whose blood and sweat built this BJP. I will never harm the party.”

She clarified that her expressions of disappointment were not meant to hurt anyone. In a previous statement, she had mentioned, “Perhaps BJP leaders would feel uneasy in my presence. If I were there, all public attention would be on me.”

In her latest critique, Bharti highlighted the poor condition of government-run hospitals, drawing from her own experience. She remarked, “When I visited Bansal Hospital for a check-up, I realized the difference between government and private hospitals, just as there is between government and private education.”

The senior BJP leader urged MLAs, MPs, Ministers, Chief Ministers, and all officers to seek treatment in government hospitals and send their children to government schools. She emphasized that only through this approach can these systems be improved, and she pledged to campaign for this cause.

Bharti also criticized the culture of politicians and government officials staying in five-star hotels, advocating for a more frugal lifestyle. She stated, “I have always criticized the extravagant expenses at weddings and the stay of our leaders in 5-star hotels. Even Modi ji strongly dislikes this lifestyle. I will continue to echo this sentiment in the future. We cannot ignore the teachings of Gandhiji, Deendayalji, and Modiji.”
