Shillong, September 4: On the 71st birth anniversary of the legendary actor Rishi Kapoor, his wife, veteran actress Neetu Kapoor, fondly remembered her late husband.
As per IANS, Rishi Kapoor, known for his iconic debut in the 1973 teen romance film ‘Bobby’ alongside Dimple Kapadia, enjoyed a prolific acting career spanning 50 years. His memorable contributions include films like ‘Khel Khel Mein,’ ‘Kabhi Kabhie,’ ‘Amar Akbar Anthony,’ ‘Karz,’ ‘Prem Rog,’ ‘Coolie,’ ‘Nagina,’ and ‘Chandni,’ among many others.
In 1980, Rishi Kapoor tied the knot with actress Neetu Singh, and the couple was blessed with two children, son and actor Ranbir Kapoor, and daughter Riddhima.
Neetu Kapoor took to Instagram to share a heartfelt montage video featuring glimpses of Rishi Kapoor’s iconic roles from various films. The video included scenes from ‘Mera Naam Joker,’ where he portrayed the role of Junior Raju, as well as memorable song sequences like ‘Hum Tum Ek Kamre Mein Band Ho’ from ‘Bobby,’ ‘Chandni O Meri Chandni’ from the romantic musical ‘Chandni,’ ‘Ek Haseena Thi’ from the romantic thriller ‘Karz,’ and ‘Khullam Khulla Pyar Karenge’ from the black comedy thriller ‘Khel Khel Mein,’ where Rishi and Neetu starred together.
Neetu Kapoor captioned the video with a simple “In remembrance.” Colleagues and friends like Soni Razdan expressed their sentiments, saying, “We miss you Rishi.” Gauahar Khan praised Rishi Kapoor as a “Superstar” and added, “Always n forever.” Ekta Kapoor, Shaheen Bhatt, and Maniesh Paul showered the post with red heart emojis.
Rishi Kapoor battled leukemia since 2018 and passed away on April 30, 2020. His final appearance was in the movie ‘Sharmaji Namkeen.’
