SHILLONG, Sep 5: The Justice (retd) T Vaiphei-led Judicial Inquiry Commission probing the Mukroh firing incident on November 22 last is set to visit the place of occurrence after September 15.
Informing this on Tuesday, Vaiphei said that almost everyone has been examined except the headman and local MDC. In addition, the commission will also examine the SP after which a spot visit would be conducted.
The next hearing is scheduled on September 15.
Reacting to a query, he informed that he will try his best to complete the inquiry and submit the report to the government within two months.
He however mentioned there are some logistical problems as many a time the convenience of the lawyers and the parties has to be kept in mind and while one party remains available, the other party is not on several occasions.
The state government in November last year had constituted a judicial inquiry commission headed by Justice (retd) T Vaiphei to inquire into the Mukroh shooting incident on November 22.
