SHILLONG, Sep 6: Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong on Wednesday said the Shillong-Dawki road, which is presently in a pathetic condition, will be repaired at the earliest. The Jowai-Lumshnong-Ratacherra stretch of National Highway 6 would also be repaired and work is likely to start next week.
The decision was taken during the meeting of Tynsong with the officials of the Ministry of Road, Transport and Highways (MoRTH), National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) in Delhi.
“We will also appoint a company who will be tasked with the responsibility of looking after NH-6,” Tynsong, who is in charge of PWD (Roads), said.
