Workshop on ‘Theatre in Education’ held

Tura, Sep 11: A fifteen days workshop on Theatre in Education (TiE) was held by Department of English and Masters of Social Work Program in collaboration with National School of Drama (TiE Wing) at NEHU, Tura Campus recently.

The product oriented workshop which has been a part of the yearly activities of Department of English, NEHU, Tura, is instrumental in developing the multi faceted personality of students and honing their language skills.

The workshop was held for a span of 15 days, from August 22 to September 6. During the workshop, participants performed a play on social awareness and on combating the present day problems that cripple the society and the youths like drug abuse and addiction.

Resource persons who conducted the workshop were Manish Saini and Vikam Rathore from NSD. Students from three departments, viz. English, MSW and Garo, participated in the workshop. The workshop took place under the coordination of Dr. Namrata Pathak and Dr. LK Gracy, Deptt. of English, NEHU, Tura.
