Shillong, September 12: Veteran actor Anupam Kher has showered praise on superstar Shah Rukh Khan for the remarkable success of his recent film ‘Jawan,’ which has crossed the Rs 500-crore mark in global box office collections.

As per IANS, Anupam and SRK previously shared the screen in the 1995 musical romance drama ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ (DDLJ), where Anupam portrayed Dharamvir Malhotra, the father of SRK’s character, Raj Malhotra.

Taking to social media, the senior actor extended his admiration to SRK in a style reminiscent of ‘DDLJ.’ He shared a joyful throwback picture with SRK and wrote, “My dear Shahrukh! I have just seen your film ‘Jawan’ with the audience in Amritsar. Enjoyed it. The action, the scale of the picture, your style and performance are very good. At one or two places, I even whistled. Loved everyone in the film! Congratulations to the entire team and especially to the writer/director @Atlee_dir !”

He playfully added, “After coming back to Mumbai, I will definitely hug you and say – O Pochi, O Koki, O Poppy, O Lola,” referencing a famous dialogue from the iconic film ‘DDLJ.’

Fans flooded the comments section with compliments, referring to both actors as “2 superstars,” praising the movie as “outstanding,” and expressing their fondness for ‘DDLJ.’

Directed by Atlee, the action thriller stars SRK in a dual role, alongside Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Deepika Padukone (in a special appearance), Priyamani, and Sanya Malhotra. ‘Jawan’ was theatrically released on September 7, achieving remarkable success.
