JOWAI, Sep 11: The Jaintia National Council (JNC) Khliehriat Circle on Monday submitted a letter addressed to Tourism Minister Paul Lyngdoh through the Deputy Commissioner of East Jaintia Hills, A Baranwal, flagging the absence of a Tourism Officer at the Tourist Officer and Information Centre department in the district.
In the letter, the JNC said, “Based on our inspection, we discovered that the Tourism officer and the staff of the Tourist Officer and Information Centre were not present in the office and we also found that the officer-in-charge and their staff had been absent for a long period of time.”
The JNC has sought the appointment of a full-fledged Tourism Officer.
