BSF, police seize smuggled dry betel nuts

SHILLONG, Sep 13: A huge quantity of smuggled dry betel nuts loaded in two trucks and worth Rs 40 lakh was seized by the BSF in a joint operation with Meghalaya Police from the Indo-Bangla border in South Garo Hills, on Wednesday.
The joint operation was carried out in the bordering area of Gaonbari, which falls under Rongra Police Station, where the two trucks were confiscated and seized.
The seized trucks along with the consignment of betel nuts were handed over to Rongra PS, and an FIR was lodged.
