Centre has responded to MRSS Act: Conrad

Shillong, Sept 15: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Friday said that the State Government has got a response on Meghalaya Residents Safety and Security (MRSS) Act from the Centre.

Speaking to media persons, the Chief Minister said that the State Government is examining on how to move forward after the receiving the response.

Earlier, even the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) had criticised the state government for failing to ensure the implementation of the Meghalaya Residents Safety and Security Act (MRSSA), 2016.

As far as the long pending demand of ILP is concern, he said that the matter is in Central Government’s domain

He also said that ILP is not the concern  but  is illegal immigration and infiltration are concerns.
