Postponed
The National Book Trust (under Ministry of Education), Government of India has postponed the Shillong Book Fair 2023 scheduled from September 18-24 at State Central Library Complex, due to administrative reasons. Fresh dates for the fair will be announced later, a statement issued here informed.
Launch
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the PM Vishwakarma scheme on September 17, on the occasion of Vishwakarma Jayanti. In Meghalaya, the programme will be held at the State Convention Centre from 10 am. Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti, Prahlad Singh Patel will attend the programme here.

Inner Wheel Club Pine City Shillong on Friday gifted an incinerator to Lumparing Vidyapeeth School. The club had earlier donated a sanitary vending machine with the aid of Impulse NGO to the school. The members interacted with the teachers on the working of the sanitary vending machine and also enquired about the requirements of the students.
