SHILLONG, Sep 18: Shillong on Monday celebrated the 136th anniversary of the Unitarian movement’s inception that largely draws its inspiration from the indigenous faith with a combination of Christianity, in the Unitarian church at Madan Laban.
This denomination of Christianity largely believes in brotherhood and oneness of God and is non-sectarian and non-idolatrous.
‘Religion is different roads converging at the same point,’ the father of the nation had once said, and the programme revolved around the same theme.
The programme was attended by religious leaders of different denominations and Cabinet ministers Kyrmen Shylla and Sanbor Shullai as guests of honour.
