Shillong, September 21: Akhil Mishra, known for his roles in films like ‘3 Idiots’ alongside Aamir Khan and ‘Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain,’ has tragically passed away at the age of 67 due to a kitchen accident.
According to a source close to IANS, the incident was indeed an accident. Mishra was discovered injured on the kitchen floor and subsequently passed away in the hospital. His body has been taken for autopsy, and the family awaits the reports.
Notably, at the time of the accident, his wife, Suzanne, was away shooting in Hyderabad.
Akhil Mishra, born in 1965, had an extensive career in the entertainment industry. His filmography included notable works like ‘Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi’ and ‘Gandhi, My Father,’ as well as television serials such as ‘Pradhanmantri.’
He gained recognition for his cameo role as Librarian Dubey in ‘3 Idiots’ and for portraying Umed Singh Bundela in the TV series ‘Uttaran,’ starring Tina Datta and Rashami Desai.
Akhil Mishra’s personal life included two marriages. He was first married to Manju Mishra in 1983, who appeared alongside him in his debut feature film ‘Dhat Tere…Ki’ in 1983, as well as in the serial ‘Grihalakshmi Ka Jinn.’ After Manju’s passing in 1997, Akhil married German actress Suzanne Bernert in February 2009.
Suzanne is known for her work in projects like ‘Ramdhanu – The Rainbow’ and ‘Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd.’ She also made appearances in the TV show ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ and portrayed Sonia Gandhi in the television series ‘7 RCR’ and in the Hindi film ‘The Accidental Prime Minister.’
