India had a remarkable day, climbing to sixth place in the medals table with 11 medals. Besides the golds in cricket and shooting, they secured four bronze medals in shooting and rowing events.

Mixed Results in Tennis and Boxing

In tennis, Rohan Bopanna and Yuki Bhambri faced a shocking defeat in men’s doubles but rebounded with a win in mixed doubles. Ankita Raina and Rutuja Bhosale had strong victories in women’s singles and doubles. In boxing, Arundhati Chaudhary faced disappointment, while Nishant Dev and Deepak advanced in their weight classes.
