Meghalaya education minister facilitates students of Nongstoin College

Nongstoin, Sept 25: Education Minister to the Government of Meghalaya, Rakkam A Sangma today felicitated more than 409 students of Nongstoin College for their success in the final examination as part of the graduation day celebration of the college.

The Education Minister was accompanied by H.M.Shangpliang, Adviser to the Government of Meghalaya, Education Department, Macmillan Byrsat, Ex MLA and President of the Governing Body of the College.

Cash along with mementos wwere given to four rank holders Ibajanai Lyngdoh securing 4th and Kohphilan Lyngkhoi 6th position in Zoology Dept, Pynshaitbor Thongni 10th position in Chemistry and Pynishisha Wanniang 10th position in Political science.

Three teachers of the college — Dr Kyntiewhunlang Lyngkhoi, Dr Skhemborlin Wahlang and Dr Rishababiang Lyngdoh Nonglait were also feted for completing their PhD.

R.A.Sangma also felicitated the founding members of the Sponsoring Body of the College for their contribution where a memento each was awarded to  Naintarsing Nongrem, Late  Semsing Dkhar, Permanent Syiem and  E.P.Syiem, the Syiem of Nongstoin.

According to Principal Dr I.Mawthoh said that the past percentages of the college in the past 3 years has been 100% in the Science and Commerce streams and 96% in the Arts stream.
