Shillong, September 26: The Delhi Police have disclosed that intercepted conversations between two arrested terrorists and Khalistani separatists in Canada and Germany, as well as their handlers in Pakistan, unveiled plans for a terror attack in the national capital after January 26 this year.
As per IANS, the revelations came to light in a recent chargesheet submitted at the Patiala House Court.
The Special Cell apprehended two individuals with suspected links to terror organizations after discovering a dismembered body in Delhi’s Bhalswa Dairy area. The accused have been identified as Jagjit Singh (alias Jagga alias Yaqub), a 29-year-old resident of Uttarakhand’s Udham Singh Nagar district, and Naushad, a 56-year-old resident of Jahangirpuri.
Upon their arrest, law enforcement found multiple mobile phones, Wi-Fi Dongles, and SIM cards in their possession. Among the recovered materials were highly incriminatory videos, audios, pictures, and chat records retrieved by CERT-In experts.
The investigation led to the recovery of six mobile phones, one SIM card, and a Wi-Fi Dongle from Naushad, along with two mobile phones, four SIM cards, and a Wi-Fi dongle from Jagjit. Call detail records, internet protocol detail records, and WhatsApp logs from these devices were obtained from respective service providers.
The chargesheet indicates that the accused were confronted with their chat conversations from social media apps like Signal and WhatsApp with individuals identified as Suhail (a Pakistani National) and Arsh Dalla (a designated terrorist). Transcripts of these chats, as explained by the accused, were prepared and signed by them.
According to the chargesheet, chats between Naushad (posing as Deepak Khanna) and Suhail Malik from December 23 to 30, 2022, revealed Naushad’s request for funds from the Pakistan-based Suhail. Naushad appeared eager to expedite the matter, expressing concern that prolonged messaging was not in the best interest of Muslims in India. Suhail indicated that funds were ready for delivery, and plans included a potential terror attack after January 26, as law enforcement would be vigilant.
Naushad also discussed earlier plans to travel to Nepal to assist terrorists entering India. In the chat, he inquired about the plan involving two terrorists and received confirmation from the Pakistani handler, Suhail, regarding the failed initial plan and the provision of funds for Naushad. Naushad expressed readiness to travel to Nepal for the task of escorting terrorists, as directed by ISI.
The chats portray Naushad as eager to fulfill the task of escorting terrorists into India, as assigned by ISI. The chargesheet also highlights segments of chat transcripts between Jagjit, the Devender Bhambiha gang, and Arsh Dalla from December 6, 2022, to January 9, 2023. These conversations involve discussions about weapons, specifically a 9 mm pistol, and a motorcycle intended for targeted killings.
