Nearly half of employees across world to shift to hybrid or fully mobile work

Shillong, September 26: A recent report indicates that nearly 50 percent of employees are expected to permanently adopt a hybrid or fully mobile work arrangement in the future.

The report, conducted by research group Omdia, highlights that a majority of businesses recognize the diversity, equality, and inclusion (DEI) benefits associated with hybrid work.

Specifically, 69 percent of businesses agree that hybrid working enables employees with varying accessibility needs to pursue more opportunities. Additionally, 67 percent believe that hybrid work eliminates location barriers, while 63 percent see it as a way to foster a sense of connectivity within teams.

As per IANS which cited report, around 61 percent of businesses note that hybrid work reduces feelings of marginalization, and 59 percent believe it contributes to closing gender gaps in recruitment.

The report also underscores that businesses are seeking improved support from their digital technology vendors and service providers. It reveals that 76 percent of businesses are reconsidering their existing digital supplier relationships.

Adam Holtby, Omdia Principal Analyst specializing in Mobile Workspace and author of the ‘Future of Work’ report, emphasized the impact of diverse work styles on employee productivity, satisfaction, and customer experience. He stressed the importance of digital partners, processes, and technologies in navigating successful future work initiatives, highlighting the role of the research in assisting solution providers and technology professionals in supporting clients’ digital workplace challenges and transformation priorities.
