FIR against 3 over timber smuggling

TURA, Sep 26: Combined groups from South West Garo Hills have filed an FIR against three persons for allegedly cutting down trees illegally to be transported elsewhere.
The groups comprising the FKJGP, FAF, AAPE and others filed the FIR against one, Sona Khan, Techang Ch Sangma and Sengkrang Ch Marak with the Officer in-charge of Damalgre Police Station.
According to the FIR, the combined groups had seized the logs loaded onto one vehicle with registration number- AS 17C 3645 and informed the Damalgre police station and the Forest department. However, when they went to the spot where the vehicle was seized, the accused absconded along with the timber laden vehicle.
Meanwhile, the groups have demanded strong action from the police against all the accused persons.
