Cop attached with HC judge shoots self

SHILLONG, Sep 27: A Meghalaya Police constable detailed as a guard of Additional Judge of the High Court of Meghalaya, Biswadeep Bhattacharjee shot himself at the latter’s house near Harrison Bridge in the city on Wednesday.
East Khasi Hills SP Sylvester Nongtnger said the deceased constable Cheeran Mooshahary shot himself at 6.30 am in the morning.
“Police recovered an empty case and the weapon which was issued to him was on his hand,” the SP said.
His body was taken to Shillong Civil Hospital for post-mortem.
While the exact cause of the incident is not known, family members of the constable who were present at the hospital, said they suspect that the deceased was suffering from depression.
