SHILLONG, Sep 29: Former Williamnagar MLA and senior Congress leader, Deborah Ch Marak seems to be keen on contesting the Lok Sabha polls from Tura Parliamentary seat next year.
She said she was ready to contest the polls if the Congress was willing to endorse her candidature. “I can win if we work together and harder,” she said.
Speaking about her chance from the Tura seat against sitting MP, Agatha Sangma of the NPP, Deborah said, “Things changes in politics every day…my win would depend on how organised the party is at the grassroots level.”
Talking about the Shillong seat, Deborah confirmed that sitting member, Vincent H Pala will contest again.
Defending the MPCC president who had lost the Assembly polls, Deborah said a faction within the party led to his defeat and the party’s downfall.
