Shillong, October 1: In a significant development impacting millions of consumers, oil marketing companies (OMCs) have announced a price hike of Rs 209 for commercial LPG cylinders, effective from Sunday, according to industry sources.

As per IANS, consequently, the cost of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder will now stand at Rs 1,731.50, starting from October 1 in New Delhi.

This price increase is expected to have an immediate ripple effect on dining out costs.

Interestingly, this decision comes only a month after OMCs had made a substantial reduction of Rs 158 in the prices of commercial LPG cylinders, starting from September 1, which had brought the cost down to Rs 1,522 in the national capital.

Furthermore, this latest upward revision in commercial LPG cylinder prices follows closely on the heels of the Centre’s decision to reduce domestic LPG cylinder prices by Rs 200 for all connection holders across the country in August.

It’s worth noting that the pricing of both commercial and domestic LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) cylinders is subject to monthly revisions, taking place on the first day of each month. August had also witnessed a reduction in commercial LPG cylinder prices by Rs 99.75 by OMCs.
