Shillong, October 2: Arvind Kejriwal, the national convener of the AAP, expressed his support for the AAP government in Punjab regarding its actions against a Congress legislator involved in a drug smuggling case.

He emphasized that their fight was not directed against any particular party or leader but aimed at combatting the drug menace that has afflicted the youth.

As per IANS, Kejriwal addressed a gathering during the launch of Mata Kaushalya Hospital and highlighted the importance of unity in addressing this critical issue. He called upon all parties to take action against any leader within their ranks involved in drug-related activities.

This statement from Kejriwal comes at a time when there is debate within the Congress party regarding an alliance with the AAP for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The recent arrest of AAP legislator Sukhpal Khaira in connection with a 2015 NDPS case has further intensified the feud between the two parties.

In contrast to the Congress state leadership, Navjot Sidhu expressed his support for the INDIA alliance in a recent post. He emphasized the importance of focusing on the national context in the upcoming elections and not just the state-level dynamics.
