Shillong, October 6: Simranjeet Kaur, along with her teammates Ankita Bhakat and Bhajan Kaur, celebrated their bronze medal win in the Recurve Women’s Team archery event at the Asian Games.
As per IANS, despite facing challenging conditions with light rain and a strong breeze affecting arrow control, the Indian team triumphed with a 6-2 victory over Vietnam, marking the first medal for Indian recurve archers in this edition of the Asian Games.
Speaking about the challenging conditions, Simranjeet Kaur said, “The conditions were difficult. Shooting under pressure is always tough. But as a team, we stayed focused on our performance.”
She emphasized the significance of the bronze medal, stating, “This medal means a lot to us. We’ve been dedicated to our practice for years, and it holds immense value for us. I’m thrilled.”
Kaur expressed that the team consistently aimed to give their best in all matches, even though they faced some close defeats in individual competitions.
