BFS seizes 74 cattle in EKH border

SHILLONG, Oct 5: In a special operation troops of BSF Meghalaya, rescued 74 cattle along the Indo-Bangladesh border of East Khasi Hills on Wednesday.
Based on specific information, special teams of 4th & 193rd Battalion BSF carried out an operation in border area of the district and managed to seize 74 cattle, being smuggled to Bangladesh from the international border.
The seized cattle were handed over to the concern police station for further necessary action.
‘Enhanced vigilance by the BSF in Meghalaya along the international border has resulted in the seizure of more than 2500 cattle from different border areas of Meghalaya since January 2023, thwarting the efforts of smugglers’.
