NAHEP-IDP sponsored lectures in Tura college

TURA, Oct 6: The Placement Cell, College of Community Science, CAU (I) Tura, Meghalaya organized NAHEP-IDP sponsored guest lectures on Friday where various Guests and faculty of the college spoke on various topics.
Dr. Rita Singh Raghuvanshi, the Founding Dean of the college took a session on “Career and Entrepreneurial Opportunities in Community Science” where she detailed Community Science as a professional course- talking about its mission and nature, community needs, scope, and utility. Dr. Raghuvanshi also talked at length about the interdisciplinary approach of Community Science, the areas of further specialisations, and its linkage with the government ministries and non-government organisation amongst various other important topics.
Meanwhile, Dr. Krishna Sheela, the longest-serving dean of the college, complemented the points of Dr. Raghuvanshi, and gave a brief lecture on “Exploring Job Opportunities for Community Science Students-The Way Forward”. She emphasised on the important roles played by the Placement Cell in availing opportunities to graduates of Community Science and also expounded on the changes in qualification requirements for jobs in the current scenario. Dr. K Sheela further encouraged the students to avail projects, create employment, and equip themselves with enough skills and credit to avail internships and jobs both at the national and international levels.
