London, Oct 6: In a thrilling night of UEFA Europa League action on Matchday 2, Liverpool maintained their winning streak in Group E, while Roma showcased their dominance over Servette, and West Ham secured a hard-fought victory against Freiburg.
Liverpool faced a formidable challenge from Belgium’s Union Saint-Gilloise but emerged victorious with a 2-0 scoreline. Darwin Núñez’s early goal was disallowed for offside, but Ryan Gravenberch capitalized on a rebound from Trent Alexander-Arnold’s shot to put Liverpool ahead. An entertaining clash between Marseille and Brighton ended in a thrilling 2-2 draw. Chancel Mbemba and Jordan Veretout put Marseille ahead with quickfire goals, but Pascal Gross and João Pedro’s late penalty secured a valuable point for Brighton.
