Youth-centric football initiative launched

Umling, Oct 7: The Chief Minister’s Youth Centre (CMYC), renowned for its holistic approach to alternative education, has expanded its offerings in Meghalaya by introducing football as its latest component.
The inaugural program took place at the CMYC in Umling, attended by key dignitaries including Balajied Rani, the Member of District Council (MDC) of Ri Bhoi; Comenson Wahlang, the Rangbah Shnong of Umling; and Jayson Lennox Nongrum, President of the Sports and Cultural Club in the region.In a partnership that promises to leverage football as a tool for societal development, the CMYC project has joined forces with Infinite Solutions, a Shillong-based NGO with a stellar reputation for its Baby League football initiatives in the city.Football now joins the ranks of sports offered at CMYC, marking a significant milestone for the project. Although in its pilot phase, this addition is expected to enhance the value and outreach of CMYC’s alternative educational program, emphasizing the importance of physical education in the comprehensive development of the region’s youth.
