Shillong, October 11: Hindus from the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia have come together to denounce the severe wave of terror and violence perpetrated by the Hamas militant group in Israel.

As per IANS, these Hindu groups are urging their respective governments to take decisive action against those responsible for these acts of war.

The ongoing conflict in Israel, marked by an unprecedented attack from Hamas, has left thousands dead on both sides, with casualties expected to rise as the conflict enters its fifth day.

In a show of solidarity, Hindu and Jewish communities in Canada joined forces for a protest march in Toronto, where they expressed their condemnation of the Hamas attacks, likened by many to “Israel’s 9/11 moment.” The march, organized by the Canadian Hindu Forum, saw members of both communities marching together peacefully, holding Indian and Israeli flags.

A peaceful rally in support of Israel was also held in Chicago by Indian-Americans who emphasized that terrorism is a humanitarian issue that needs to be halted before it escalates further.

The Coalition of Hindus of North America (CoHNA), a US-based advocacy organization, strongly condemned the acts against innocent civilians. They expressed solidarity with the Jewish community in mourning the loss of innocent lives and called for an end to violence, especially violence that targets innocents and degrades women.

Insight UK, on behalf of Hindus in Britain, unequivocally condemned the violence by Hamas terrorists, especially against women, children, and the elderly. They expressed deep empathy for the Jewish people and supported Israel’s right to defend itself against terrorism.

The British advocacy group also urged the UK government and authorities to take firm action against anti-Semitism present in various aspects of the country, including the streets, politics, academia, and the media.

The Hindu Council of Australia expressed their concern for the suffering inflicted on innocent Israeli citizens and called upon the Australian government to pursue all available avenues, including the United Nations, to ensure that those responsible for these acts of war are identified, prosecuted, and punished.

Reports indicate that both Israeli and Palestinian forces have been captured and forcibly taken into Gaza, including members of the Israeli forces, civilians, women, and children.
