Shillong, October 11: In Sialkot, Pakistan, on Wednesday, Shahid Latif, the mastermind behind the Pathankot attack and one of India’s most wanted terrorists, was fatally shot by unidentified attackers.
As per India Today Latif, a key member of the proscribed terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed (JEM), was deported through Wagah in 2010 after serving a 16-year prison sentence in India. He had been arrested on November 12, 1994.
The Indian government had designated Latif as a terrorist, and he was a wanted individual in a case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) by the National Investigation Agency.
