Life skill devp prog for school students in city

SHILLONG, Oct 14: A one-day ‘Life Skill Development Program’ was organised by Meghalaya Together, a socio-cultural organization made up of like-minded individuals from different walks of life in the state, at Gorkha Pathshala Higher Secondary School for schoolchildren of nine schools on Saturday.
The aim of the programme was to impart personality development and communication skills to school children from Class VII to Class IX. The programme was led by Dharmaraj Joshi, a Graduate from Gauhati University, who is a Freelance Personality Development trainer, professional Quiz Master and motivator for school students, with the help of Hironmoy Dutta, an office bearer of Meghalaya Together, and Prof Brinda Bazeley Kharbirymbai, HoD, Department of Education, NEHU.
Activities were designed to bring about an active participation from the students in terms of personality development, communication and team building. The highlight of the program was the turncoat debate competition which had participating debating for and against the motion on a particular topic chosen on the top. At the end of the program prizes were distributed to the three winners (Kalyan Sherpa, Mawprem Modern Higher Secondary School, Aakansha Chettri, Gorkha Pathshala Higher Secondary School and Vijay Sunar, Mawprem Modern Higher Secondary School) by Amit Thapa, Principal of Gorkha Pathshala Higher Secondary School.
