Shillong, October 15: A plane carrying WHO medical supplies for Gaza has landed at Egypt’s El Arish airport, according to the Egyptian Red Crescent.

As per IANS, coordination between the Egyptian and Palestine Red Crescent has facilitated the continuous delivery of essential humanitarian aid to Gaza via a land bridge. Gaza has been under an Israeli siege since October 9, following an attack by Hamas, resulting in casualties on both sides.

WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus announced the shipment to El Arish airport to address urgent health needs in Gaza. However, the supplies await access through the crossing.

Israel’s mass evacuation order for northern Gaza was met with international rejection, including Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the Arab League, and the United Nations.

El Arish airport has received aid supplies from Jordan, the UAE, and Turkey in recent days to support Gaza.
