Chetan, Diana shine in National Car Racing Championship
Chennai, Oct 15: Bengaluru’s Aditya Swaminathan and Chetan Surineni notched a double each in th Formula 2000 and F1600 categories, respectively, as the third round of the Indian National Car Racing Championship 2023 concluded at the Madras International Circuit, here on Sunday.Meanwhile, Chandigarh’s Angad Matharoo provisionally clinched the championship in the Saloon Car (Toyota Etios) category with five wins from nine starts, besides two podium finishes this weekend, while Coimbatore’s Jai Prashanth Venkat was placed second followed by Mumbai’s Zahan Commissariat. Shanghai Masters: Bopanna, Ebden pair finishes runner-up
Shanghai, Oct 15: Indian ace tennis player Rohan Bopanna and his Australian men’s doubles partner Matthew Ebden finish as runner-up at the Shanghai Masters after losing to Spain’s Marcel Granollers and Argentina’s Horacio Zeballos 7-5, 2-6, 7-10 in the final, here at the Qizhong Forest Sports City Arena on Sunday.The Indo-Australian duo faced a stiff channel from Granollers and Zeballos. Both teams managed to hold their respective serves in the first set before Rohan and Abden managed to get a decisive break point in the 12th game to take the lead. (IANS)
Brazil call up Botafogo’s Adryelson for World Cup qualifier
Rio de Janeiro, Oct 15: Uncapped Botafogo defender Adryelson has been called up to Brazil’s squad for their FIFA World Cup qualifier against Uruguay, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) said.The 25-year-old replaces Fluminense center-back Marcilio Mota, who sprained his left knee during a training session on Saturday.Adryelson has made 65 starts for Botafogo since joining the club.
