Shillong, Oct 15: In an exciting development for football enthusiasts in the region, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma announced on Sunday that a young and promising footballer hailing from West Garo Hills District, Donkam M. Marak, has been successfully selected to join the U-17 football team of Hyderabad FC, one of the nation’s premier football clubs.
Chief Minister Sangma shared this exhilarating news through a post on his social media platform. He expressed his enthusiasm for Donkam’s achievement, stating, “Donkam M. Marak, a promising young footballer from Tura, West Garo Hills District, has been selected by one of the biggest clubs in the country, the Hyderabad FC, for their U-17 football team.
Donkam was playing for the Chandmary FC and showed great skills in every match he played.”
The Chief Minister’s words resounded with hope and optimism, as he noted, “Certain that this is just the beginning of his very bright future in football. Wish this emerging star the very best!”
Donkam M. Marak’s roots trace back to the tranquil village of Matalagre in Okkapara.
Currently a student of Class X at Hawakhana Higher Secondary School in Tura, this young talent’s journey to joining Hyderabad FC is an inspiring testament to the potential hidden within the smaller communities of India.
