October 25 has been declared as local holiday in West Garo Hills on account of the 33rd death anniversary of Late Captain W A Sangma, the first chief minister of Meghalaya; while November 2 will be a local holiday in Ri-Bhoi district on account of Nongkrem Dance festival, statements from districts Deputy Commissioners informed here on Tuesday.
All state government office, magisterial courts, revenue, educational institutions, banks in West Garo Hills and Ri-Bhoi districts shall remain closed on the said dates.
