SKM condoles death of ex IAS officer Dkhar

Shillong, Oct 17: The Seng Khasi Kmie (SKM) on Tuesday condoled the demise of its president, late Don Kupar Dkhar.
The SKM also held a condolence meeting at its office in Mawkhar on Monday where the members recalled the contribution of its late president in the efforts to preserve the Khasi indigenous faith, culture, tradition and customary practices of the Khasi indigenous community. “It is a great loss to the SKM at the time when it needs his able leadership to guide the organisation,” SKM general secretary, Hainess Marbaniang said in a statement.
He further stated that they have also decide in the meeting on Monday that the Seng Khasi College will be given a holiday on Wednesday as a mark of respect to the late president.
The SKM will pay their last tribute by performing the last ritual on Wednesday at his residence of the late president at Lumshyiap, Golflink. After the last ritual, the body of the late president will be taken to the office of the SKM at Mawkhar before it is taken to Lumjingthang of SKM at Jaiaw for his cremation.
