Shillong, Oct 18: In a heart-wrenching turn of events at the U-17 boys’ Subroto Cup, Meghalaya’s young talents from Assam Rifles Public School narrowly missed securing a spot in the quarterfinals despite finishing their Pool D campaign undefeated.
Maharashtra clinched the coveted quarterfinal berth by edging out Meghalaya with a superior goal difference.¬¬
The Meghalaya squad had exhibited exceptional form throughout the tournament, securing three impressive victories.
They decimated minnows Dadra and Nagar Haveli & Daman and Diu with a staggering score of 14-0 on Saturday.
