Mawkynrew, Oct 25: In a blaze of anticipation, the charming town of Mawkynrew in Meghalaya is set to host the eagerly awaited 4th Mawkynrew Cup 2023, a sporting spectacle poised to leave an indelible mark on the region’s athletic heritage.
Mark your calendars for the October 27, as this date officially sets the commencement of the tournament, promising an exhilarating period for both athletes and fervent fans alike.Under the astute leadership of Lakmenlang Wankhar, who serves as the Convenor, the Mawkynrew Cup Committee proudly unveiled this remarkable event. Comprising dedicated individuals such as Shrenlinus Khriam and Arland Pyngrope, prominent figures within Shillong’s sports community, the committee spared no effort in meticulously organizing this prestigious competition.
As the countdown to the highly anticipated football extravaganza drew nearer, an electric atmosphere of excitement enveloped the entire region. Teams hailing from diverse locales, including Laitkyrhong and Mawkynrew itself, in addition to neighboring areas, eagerly geared up to partake in the tournament.
